Basketball Recap: Monterey Trail Takes a Loss

Monterey Trail's tournament run continued when they took on Colfax on Monday. The Monterey Trail Mustangs lost to the Colfax Falcons on the road by a 70-55 margin.

Colfax's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaia Diederichs, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine assists. Another player making a difference was Madalyn Sigrist, who went 9 of 13 on her way to 18 points and five steals.

Monterey Trail's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Colfax, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Monterey Trail and Montgomery will round out the year against one another at on Friday. Colfax and Foothill will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Colfax is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
