Football Recap: Turner Takes a Loss

Turner extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They took a 29-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds. The Golden Bears lost against the Thunderbirds in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-30 score last time.

As for Shawnee Heights, the victory got them back to even at 4-4. The win was nothing new for the Thunderbirds as they're now sitting on three straight.

Leading Shawnee Heights to victory were Aiden Scott and David Wakes. Scott threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes, while Wakes gained 104 total yards and two touchdowns. 86 of Scott's passing yards were hauled in by Dallas Owens.

Turner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shawnee Heights, they will face off against St. James Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunder will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
