Baseball Recap: Central Georgia Arts Comes Up Short

Central Georgia Arts fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Trinity Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 5-2 to the Crusaders. That's two games in a row now that Central Georgia Arts has lost by exactly three runs.

Isaiah Bloodworth was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out eight batters over 7.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Bloodworth wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lane Scarboro, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Central Georgia Arts has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

While Central Georgia Arts had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
