Baseball Game Preview: Kennebunk Rams vs. Marshwood Hawks

The Kennebunk Rams will challenge the Marshwood Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Kennebunk nor Marshwood posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Kennebunk is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Portland. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 16, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Kennebunk saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Burnham, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Marshwood got themselves on the board against Biddeford on Wednesday, but Biddeford never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since May 29, 2025.

Sawyer Reimels tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Marshwood and bumps their season record up to 4-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Kennebunk, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
