Soccer Game Preview: Independence vs. Gunderson

The Independence 76ers are taking a road trip to take on the Gunderson Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for Independence and four for Gunderson.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Independence's offense. They lost 9-0 to Lincoln on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the 76ers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1181st, while the Lions are ranked 541st).

Meanwhile, Gunderson's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Prospect by a score of 2-1.

Gunderson's goal came courtesy of Gabriella Romero, who's now up to eight this season.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Gunderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Independence might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from Gunderson in their previous matchup back in January. Can Independence avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
