Recap: High Tech SD Storm vs. Hoover Cardinals

The High Tech SD Storm fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Hoover Cardinals on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for High Tech SD in their matchups with Hoover: they've now lost six in a row.

High Tech SD's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma LaSalle, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and ten steals. LaSalle is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Vivianna Cravens, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Leading Hoover to victory were Jewel Parker and Myesha Frank. Parker dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Frank scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Parker hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Fatamata Patton was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.

High Tech SD's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Hoover, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. High Tech SD will face off against La Jolla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoover, they will face off against Escondido Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Escondido Charter will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Hoover surely won't give up without a fight.
