Basketball Recap: El Cajon Valley's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

El Cajon Valley had won three straight games and Asia Marie Dixon did her part to make it four on Friday. The El Cajon Valley Braves were the clear victor by a 52-26 margin over the Mount Miguel Matadors thanks to Dixon, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 25 points and 12 boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 18 times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of McKinley Morgan, who posted seven points along with six steals and five boards. She has become a key player for El Cajon Valley: the team is 14-5 when she posts at least three steals, but 2-4 otherwise.

El Cajon Valley pushed their record up to 16-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36 points. As for Mount Miguel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 19 of their last 21 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-24 record this season.

Coming up, El Cajon Valley will challenge Rock Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Miguel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
