Softball Game Preview: Indianola Indians vs. Newton Cardinals

The Indianola Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the Newton Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Indianola came up short against Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday, falling 14-4. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to Oskaloosa.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Indianola, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Indianola might still be hurting after the 12-3 loss they got from Newton when the teams last played on June 6th. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
