Druid Hills hadn't done well against Lakeside recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Red Devils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vikings, sneaking past 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Red Devils: when they faced off against the Vikings back in August, they had to take a 18-13 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Sofia Srubas, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Maya Roesch, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Druid Hills and bumps their season record up to 4-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Lakeside, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Druid Hills will head out to take on St. Pius X Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeside, they will challenge Arabia Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.35 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
