Baseball Recap: Collins Hill Comes Up Short

Collins Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dacula Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-9 last Monday.

Jett Beck was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Noah Alvarado and Aiden Wakefield did some serious damage despite the final result: Alvarado scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Wakefield scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Collins Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Dacula, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

While Collins Hill had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
