Basketball Game Preview: Del Norte Warriors vs. Red Bluff Spartans

The Del Norte Warriors will challenge the Red Bluff Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Red Bluff took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Del Norte, who comes in off a win.

Del Norte had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 72-point drubbing they dealt South Fork on Saturday. The Warriors blew past the Cubs 74-2. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-2.

Meanwhile, Red Bluff unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost to University Prep at home by a 46-29 margin on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Del Norte will need to focus on slowing down Lily Benson, one of several Red Bluff players who made an impact when they last played. She posted eight points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Maryly Duggins, who scored three points in addition to 11 rebounds and seven blocks.
