Baseball Recap: Fort Wayne North Side Comes Up Short

Fort Wayne North Side was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights, falling 27-10. Even if the Legends couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Elijah Tanner stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Khamarius Harris, who earned one run and three stolen bases.

Fort Wayne North Side's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 17-9.

Fort Wayne North Side and Fort Wayne Bishop Luers could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Legends will take on East Noble at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (351 vs. 168). Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (ranked 107th) will meet Huntington North (ranked 25th) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
