Preview: Northwest Area Rangers vs. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Rams

Northwest Area has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Saturday. They will challenge the Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Rams at 1:30 p.m. Hopefully Northwest Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday, Northwest Area was able to grind out a solid victory over Millville, taking the game 49-38. The victory was just what Northwest Area needed coming off of a 78-18 defeat in their prior match.

Karsyn Miner was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Northwest Area's points. Ashlyn Hermanofski was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six steals.

Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a serious blow against Sullivan County on Wednesday, falling 63-15. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-8.

The victory got Northwest Area back to even at 2-2. As for Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for Northwest Area against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 65-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwest Area since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
