Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grants). They really took it to the Espanola Valley Sundevils for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-0 victory. The Pirates pushed the score to 40-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Sundevils had no chance of recovering from.

Grants' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristin Fernandez led the charge by throwing for 205 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Fernandez a new career-high in passer rating (156.3). Cardenio Chavez was in the mix too, providing Grants with two scores.

Grants didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Isaiah Ortega led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Grants and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games. As for Espanola Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
