Football Recap: Tavares Comes Up Short

After soaring to 53 points the game before, Tavares was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a 23-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Lake Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Landen Jorgensen threw for 46 yards and one TD. Camare Williams was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The critical scores for South Lake came from Rome McKinnond, Tre Kelly, and Joseph Robinson.

Tavares' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South Lake, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Tavares will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on George Jenkins at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for South Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Villages Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
