Football Recap: Buffalo Gap Takes a Loss

Buffalo Gap had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it four. They took a 27-11 bruising from the Alleghany Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 55 points in the game before, the Bison couldn't push the score so high this time.

When it comes to explaining why Buffalo Gap lost, don't look at Isaac Goff. Despite the final result, he rushed for 99 yards and one TD.

As for Alleghany, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 31.5 points this season.

Alleghany had a senior duo take command as Haiden Nicely threw for 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes and Jaquin Godfrey picked up 74 receiving yards and two scores.

Looking ahead, Buffalo Gap will head out to take on Staunton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Storm's defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Bison's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Alleghany, they will be playing at home against Wilson Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Hornets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
