Basketball Recap: Aeiress Hearn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lakeside over Hillcrest

Lakeside lost against Hillcrest back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lakeside Lancers took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hillcrest Trojans. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lakeside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aeiress Hearn, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Miyah Reed, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Even though they lost, Lakeside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive matches.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Hillcrest, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.

Lakeside and Vista del Lago will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
