Basketball Recap: Bentley Gets the Win

There's no place like home for Bentley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 41-40 photo finish over the Quarry Lane Cougars on Thursday. For the Phoenix, this counts as revenge for the 44-14 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Quarry Lane lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Avery Arsanjani, who posted 16 points. That was a full 40% of Quarry Lane's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Annie Zhang was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The victory got Bentley back to even at 6-6. As for Quarry Lane, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Bentley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-31 defeat against Head-Royce on the 22nd. As for Quarry Lane, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 43-31 loss against Emerald on the 21st.
