Basketball Recap: Chris Curiel Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Patagonia

Ray won the last time they faced Patagonia and things went their way on Saturday too. The Ray Bearcats walked away with a 69-57 win over the Patagonia Lobos. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bearcats.

Ray's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Curiel led the charge by going 6 for 12 en route to 17 points and five steals. Those 17 points gave Curiel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Chester, who posted 20 points and six boards.

Ray is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Patagonia, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.

Ray will take on Fort Thomas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Ray's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Patagonia, they will square off against Tombstone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Tombstone will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Patagonia surely won't give up without a fight.
