Football Recap: Brody Rebuck Key Part of Team Effort in Braves Win

There's no place like home for Shikellamy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 14-7 victory over the Central Mountain Wildcats on Friday. The Braves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Shikellamy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Rebuck led the charge by rushing for 98 yards, while also throwing for 137 yards and one touchdown. The Braves' leading receiver Thomas Pollock was Rebuck's top target yet again, picking up 84 receiving yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Shikellamy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 229 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Shikellamy's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Central Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shikellamy will challenge Selinsgrove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves will be up against the Seals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Central Mountain, they will square off against Montoursville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 10.5 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
