Softball Recap: South Cobb Eagles vs. Langston Hughes Panthers
After flying high against Pebblebrook on Tuesday, South Cobb came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Langston Hughes Panthers by a score of 14-13 on Wednesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Janiya Fields was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 with eight stolen bases, five runs, and one triple. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.4 stolen bases per game. Kennedi Williams was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
