Preview: La Costa Canyon vs. Carlsbad
La Costa Canyon and Carlsbad are an even 2-2-6 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The La Costa Canyon Mavericks will head out on the road to square off against the Carlsbad Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Costa Canyon will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, La Costa Canyon kept a clean sheet against Sage Creek. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 3-0 win. That three goal margin sets a new team best for La Costa Canyon this season.
They hit Sage Creek with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Annie DeHaan,
Keira McMurray, and
Emma Heineken.
Meanwhile, Carlsbad had just enough and edged Canyon Crest Academy out 2-1 on Tuesday.
La Costa Canyon's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9-1. As for Carlsbad, their win bumped their record up to 6-4-5.
La Costa Canyon came up short against Carlsbad in their previous meeting back in January, falling 2-0. Can La Costa Canyon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
