Basketball Recap: Raelynn Fisher's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Huntingdon over Central Cambria

Huntingdon lost against Central Cambria back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Huntingdon Bearcats took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Cambria Red Devils. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Red Devils are ranked 96th).

Huntingdon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raelynn Fisher, who posted seven points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Reagan Orenshaw, who had seven points.

Even though they lost, Huntingdon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 18 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Huntingdon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Central Cambria, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Huntingdon has already played their next contest, a 54-37 loss against Tyrone on the 8th. As for Central Cambria, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-56 defeat against Bishop Guilfoyle on the 8th.
