Soccer Game Preview: Pomona vs. Ganesha

Pomona is 1-8-1 against Ganesha since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Pomona Red Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Ganesha Giants at 5:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Pomona didn't have quite enough to beat Edgewood and fell 4-3.

Meanwhile, Ganesha waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Their defense stepped up to hand the Olympians an 11-0 shutout. Give the Giants' defense some credit: that's the team's seventh straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Bassett from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Izabella Acosta led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Ganesha's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those four games. As for Pomona, they now have a losing record at 5-6-1.

Pomona might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Ganesha in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Pomona avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
