Independence entered their tilt with Overfelt on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-48 W against the Royals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-45 back in January.

Independence got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Genesza Franco out in front who posted six points in addition to 13 boards and three blocks. Franco is becoming a predictor of the 76ers' success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 3-1 (and 8-9 when she doesn't). Isabella Aquino was another key player, putting up six points along with five boards and three steals.

Independence was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Independence now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Overfelt, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.

Independence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-36 victory against Yerba Buena on the 11th. As for Overfelt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 39-28 win against Mt. Pleasant on the 13th.
