Softball Recap: Fort Calhoun's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Fort Calhoun entered their tilt with Ord on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Chanticleers with a sharp 13-5 victory. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Kayla Kratz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Warfield, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Tacey Belina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Fort Calhoun's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Ord, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-26 record this season.

Fort Calhoun has already played their next matchup, a 13-0 victory against Tekamah-Herman on the 7th. Ord does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
