Recap: Orangewood Academy Spartans vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs
On Friday, Orangewood Academy beat Shadow Ridge 49-42.
Orangewood Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alissa Belen out in front who scored 13 points. The matchup was Belen's third in a row with at least ten points. Vivian Grenald was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Despite the loss, Shadow Ridge still got an impressive performance from Zh?mya Martin, who scored 21 points. The game was Martin's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaslyn Jefferson, who scored ten points.
Orangewood Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Shadow Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orangewood Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bishop Gorman at 5:00 p.m. on January 6th. Bishop Gorman is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Shadow Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Spring Valley's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Shadow Ridge has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
