Baseball Recap: Chattahoochee Comes Up Short

Chattahoochee suffered their biggest loss since February 18th on Wednesday. They came up short against the Johns Creek Gladiators, falling 9-3. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Andrew Gordon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Chattahoochee is 4-2 when Gordon allowsthree or fewer earned runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Jake Crowe was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Caden Morris, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Chattahoochee now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Johns Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

While Chattahoochee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
