Flag Football Recap: Mountain View Skates Past Dobson with Ease

After only seven points in their last contest, Mountain View made sure to put some points up on the board against Dobson on Monday. The Toros blew past the Mustangs, posting a 56-6 victory. Considering the Toros have won six games by more than 27 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Mountain View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but TIERAH METCALF led the charge by throwing for 241 yards and five TDs while completing 76% of her passes, and also rushing for 38 yards. That's the most passing touchdowns METCALF has posted since back in September. Another receiver making a difference was EMMA FISCHBECK, who picked up 155 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Mountain View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut FISCHBECK. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 103.7 receiving yards per game. Another thorn in Dobson's side was GINNY WILSON, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles.

Mountain View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average over those games. As for Dobson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Mountain View didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-0 victory against Westwood on the 29th. As for Dobson, they have also already played their next game, a 26-9 defeat against Mesa on the 29th.
