The St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Serra Cavaliers at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Serra will be up against a hot St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to nine. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy claimed a resounding 48-19 victory over Paraclete. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while the Spirits are ranked 1200th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Serra, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They breezed by Ramona Convent to the tune of 65-35 on Tuesday. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cavaliers had established a 21 point advantage.

St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy better focus on containing Kaicia Snelson and Yve Young as the pair were huge in Serra's win. Snelson went 9 for 19 on her way to 21 points, while Young went 7 of 13 en route to 15 points and four steals. Those 21 points gave Snelson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mariyah Lewis, who posted 13 points.

St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Serra, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
