Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for the Nueva School

If Pescadero wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played The Nueva School, they should've done a better job of containing Willa Beard. The Nueva School Mavericks took down the Pescadero Vikings 49-31 on Wednesday thanks in part to Beard, who posted 15 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Anjali Mariathasan, who put up 14 points and four steals. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

The victory made it two in a row for The Nueva School and bumps their season record up to 2-6. As for Pescadero, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Pacific Bay Christian the next time they take the court. The Nueva School will head out to face Pacific Bay Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Pescadero will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
