Meanwhile, El Camino fell victim to La Costa Canyon and their airtight defense last Saturday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Mavericks an easy 5-0 win. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Mavericks: they've now lost four in a row.

El Camino now has a losing record at 1-2-1. Poway's draw makes their record 4-1-1 this season.

Poway skirted past El Camino 3-2 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Poway repeat their success, or does El Camino have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
