Softball Recap: Tekamah-Herman Wins Going Away Against Duchesne/Roncalli

After losing to Duchesne/Roncalli the last time they met, Tekamah-Herman decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over Duchesne/Roncalli on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Payton Olson was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Taylor Lydick, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tekamah-Herman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Tekamah-Herman and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Duchesne/Roncalli, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Tekamah-Herman has already played their next game, a 10-8 defeat against North Bend Central on the 2nd. As for Duchesne/Roncalli, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 21-7 victory against South Sioux City on the 2nd.
