Basketball Recap: Point Arena Comes Up Short

Point Arena was the 65-43 winner over Grace Christian Academy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Point Arena Pirates took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grace Christian Academy Lions on Tuesday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Point Arena lost, don't look at Hattie Piper. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points. Piper's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Giselle Mejia Fuentes was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Point Arena's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Grace Christian Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Point Arena wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-11 victory against Potter Valley on the 13th. As for Grace Christian Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 53-38 win against Anderson Valley on the 12th.
