Preview: Grace Davis Spartans vs. Johansen Vikings
Grace Davis is 1-9 against Johansen since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Grace Davis Spartans will be staying on the road to face off against the Johansen Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on January 18th.
Grace Davis suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Monday. They were outmatched by Beyer on the road and fell 65-37.
Meanwhile, Johansen beat Beyer 57-49 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Johansen.
Johansen relied on the efforts of Jamie Zarilla, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds and six steals, and Bethany Albarran, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Albarran has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Danna Singh, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Grace Davis bumped their record down to 8-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Johansen, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Grace Davis came up short against Johansen in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 45-37. Thankfully for Grace Davis, Alize Martinez (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
