Football Game Preview: Texico Wolverines vs. Hozho Academy Wolves + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Cross Figg and Brandon Bonaguidi are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Texico Wolverines will square off against the Hozho Academy Wolves at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Texico's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.

Texico is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Navajo Prep 54-6. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 44 points or more this season.

Texico's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bennett Wahlen, who threw for 96 yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Wahlen racked up 17 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August.

Texico was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 345 rushing yards. They are a perfect 6-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Texico didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jaheim Moses led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Meanwhile, Hozho Academy came tearing into Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Tigers 49-47.

Hozho Academy found their leader in sophomore Bonaguidi, who threw for 200 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 88 yards and a pair of scores.

Texico's record now sits at 7-3. As for Hozho Academy, their record is now 9-2.

Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. Texico has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 212.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hozho Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 180 rushing yards.
