Baseball Recap: Proctor Takes a Loss

Proctor extended their losing streak to seven on Monday, dropping them down to 3-10. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hermantown Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in April.

As for Hermantown, they now have a winning record of 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Proctor since May 22, 2023.

For Hermantown's part, Carter Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jimmy Bartsch, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Jax Johnson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Looking ahead, Proctor will head out on the road to take on Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hermantown, they will face off against Grand Rapids at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
