Football Game Preview: Minnewaska Area Lakers vs. Holdingford Huskers

Minnewaska Area is 0-4 against Holdingford since August of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Lakers will be playing at home against the Huskers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Minnewaska Area's win against Melrose wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Lakers made off with a 26-25 victory over the Dutchmen. The win continues a trend for the Lakers in their matchups with the Dutchmen: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last game, Holdingford made sure to put some points up on the board against Osakis on Friday. The Huskers were the clear victors by a 40-14 margin over the Silverstreaks. The result was nothing new for the Huskers, who have now won three matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.

The victory got Minnewaska Area back to even at 2-2. As for Holdingford, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Minnewaska Area couldn't quite finish off Holdingford when the teams last played back in October of 2017 and fell 21-18. Can the Lakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
