Softball Recap: Auburn's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Auburn dropped to 17-9 on Saturday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 15-1 to the Yutan-Mead Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since August 22nd.

Addison Darnell made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

As for Yutan-Mead, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-6. Considering they have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

On Yutan-Mead's side, they got a massive performance out of Jordyn Campbell, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Bailey Bartunek also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Looking ahead, Auburn will take on Fort Calhoun at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Yutan-Mead, they will square off against Centennial at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
