Basketball Game Preview: Alisal Trojans vs. Evergreen Valley Cougars

The Alisal Trojans will challenge the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alisal will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Monday, Alisal beat Pacific Grove 45-34. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Breakers are ranked 541st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Evergreen Valley was a bit more limited in their match last Saturday. They had to suffer through a 77-21 loss at the hands of Pinewood. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Alisal will have to contain Aastha Bhagat as she made an impact in Evergreen Valley's last game. She posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Samanvi Gudlavaletti, who scored four points.

Alisal has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Evergreen Valley, their loss ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-3.
