Basketball Recap: Boyertown Comes Up Short

Boyertown played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. 2025 welcomed they with a 59-35 loss courtesy of the Spring-Ford Rams. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.

When it comes to explaining why Boyertown lost, don't look at Madelyn Weaver. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 13 on her way to 16 points. That was a full 45.7% of Boyertown's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Engler, who had nine points and six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Boyertown and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Spring-Ford, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Boyertown will head out to face off against Great Valley at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Spring-Ford, they will host Perkiomen Valley at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Perkiomen Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
