Softball Recap: Amiah Picaso Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Englewood

Arvada's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They never let the Englewood Pirates get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won nine in a row.

Alyssa Moreno made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Amiah Picaso was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in September of 2024. Abby Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Arvada's record is now 10-2. As for Englewood, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Coincidentally, Arvada and Englewood will both be playing Middle Park the next time they take the field. The Pirates will host the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 11:30 p.m.
