Softball Recap: Greenbrier Comes Up Short

Grovetown hit Greenbrier with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolfpack lost 8-2 to the Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolfpack of the 12-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Greenbrier saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josie McQuillan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Another was Avery Bankston, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Greenbrier's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Grovetown, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Greenbrier will head out on the road to square off against Swainsboro at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grovetown, they will welcome Grayson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
