Woodward-Granger had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs 3-2. That's more bragging rights for Woodward-Granger, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

This is the second loss in a row for Dallas Center-Grimes and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodward-Granger will square off against Ames at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dallas Center-Grimes, they will venture away from home to challenge Norwalk at 7:30 p.m. on the 8th.
