Softball Recap: Air Academy Takes a Loss

Air Academy dropped to 11-3-1 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 11-1 to the Lutheran Lions. The matchup marked the Kadets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

For Lutheran's part, Air Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Annie Schroeder, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up six walks). Schroeder has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kiley Glenn was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Briar Golden, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Air Academy has already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Lewis-Palmer on the 24th. As for Lutheran, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-0 win against Northridge on the 24th.
