Basketball Recap: Tehachapi Warriors vs. Bullard Knights
Tehachapi and Bullard met for a duel on Saturday where Tehachapi came out on top. The Tehachapi Warriors snuck past the Bullard Knights with a 51-45 victory. The Warriors' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Tehachapi was led to victory by Koree Rodden and Riley Walden. Rodden dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Walden posted 18 points along with two steals and two blocks. Walden has been hot , having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Dock, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Bullard saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaide Martinez went 5 for 6 en route to 15 points. What's more, Martinez also posted a 83% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in November of 2023. Joice Koko was another key player, scoring four points.
Tehachapi's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bullard, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Tehachapi will be defending their home-court for the first time this season they go up against Stockdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bullard, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 93-44 loss against Clovis West on the 26th.
