Cowanesque Valley suffers third straight loss at home

The Cowanesque Valley Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 37-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Penn-Liberty. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cowanesque Valley in their matchups with North Penn-Liberty: they've now lost seven in a row.

North Penn-Liberty found their leader in underclassman Haley Litzelman, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. That's the first time this season that Litzelman scored 15 or more points. Tierney Patterson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.

Cowanesque Valley's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for North Penn-Liberty, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2.

Cowanesque Valley will stay at home for another game and welcome North Penn-Mansfield at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. North Penn-Mansfield's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Cowanesque Valley's offense will have their work cut out for Cowanesque Valley. As for North Penn-Liberty, they will head out on the road to face off against Meadowbrook Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Meadowbrook Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
