Recap: Silverado Hawks vs. Barstow Aztecs
In what's become a running theme this season, the Silverado Hawks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 77-24 win over Barstow. With Silverado ahead 55-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Silverado got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elizabeth Udeze out in front who scored 26 points. Udeze is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Belinda Rincon, who scored 18 points.
Silverado pushed their record up to 17-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Barstow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silverado's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Jackrabbits at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. Victor Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 962nd, while the Hawks are ranked 223rd). As for Barstow, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Bryanna Lynem and Emersyn Ebel.
