Softball Game Preview: Marshalltown Bobcats vs. Lincoln Railsplitters

The Marshalltown Bobcats will take on the Lincoln Railsplitters on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marshalltown has five straight victories, Lincoln has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Marshalltown's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Nevada. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 13 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln fell victim to Ottumwa and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 14-0.

Marshalltown's win bumped their record up to 16-18. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Marshalltown took their victory against Lincoln in their previous meeting back in June by a conclusive 11-3 score. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Railsplitters have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
