Softball Recap: Marion County's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Marion County lost against Lamar County back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles lost 10-4 to the Trojans. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Taner Tyler made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marion County fell to 4-1. As for Lamar County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Marion County will be playing at home against Shaw at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lamar County, they will face off against Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
